Here at ooops! restoration work is a real passion of ours. We love to take your pride and joy and transform it back to its original showroom condition. We especially love working on classic cars. The restoration process includes stripping, prepping, priming, painting and detailing with our legendary attention to detail.

Our Process

Stripping – this part of the process is carried out with great attention to detail.  Every nut, bolt, screw and clip is recorded so that they all get put back in exactly the same position.

Prepping – all surfaces that require painting are sanded back as far as necessary.  We believe that like everything in life, preparation is 80% of the finished job.

Priming – all areas to be painted are primed.  The car is then baked and we ‘flat’ the primed areas ready for painting.

Painting – most vehicles today use a base coat that is often pearlescent or metallic, and is water-based, environmentally friendly and air-dried.  We have one of the best spray booths in Dorset, where the total volume of air changes six times per minute.  After the base coat is air-dried a top coat lacquer is applied and baked off – and it is this that creates the protection that gives your paintwork resilience, longevity and clarity.

Detailing – After coming out of the spray booth, your car is detailed, a quality check is carried out by the technician and then additionally checked by the shift manager to make sure it’s in tip top condition and ready to go

Can you match any colour ?

We’ve yet to find a colour that we can’t match!

All vehicles have a paint code, usually in the log book or on the car itself, using this code in conjunction with manufacturers data and our computerised paint formulae, we mix exactly the right paint for your repair, this ensures the colour is perfect every time, including metallic and pearlescent paint

How long will it take ?

One of the benefits of the technology employed by ooops! is that it allows us to do relatively quick repairs, most “trim” jobs can be completed within the hour, however, if we expect it to take longer we will tell you before we commence work and any paint work will take a whole day

Can you do it while I wait ?

Definitely, yes, we have a comfortable lounge with magazines to read while we keep you fed with doughnuts, there’s also plenty of complementary tea or coffee

Can I leave my car with you if I can't wait ?

Yes, we are fully insured and would be happy to look after your vehicle, we are here until 9pm every evening so you can return at your leisure

How can I pay ?

We prefer any major debit or credit card.  We accept cheques as a pre-payment 4 days before we commence work. And for those that want ooops! to keep it a secret… we will take cash!
